Partnerships

The Ivy Community Charities of Prince George’s County, Inc., a non-profit corporation, was incorporated in the State of Maryland on December 29, 1986. The corporation was established as the 501(c)3 arm of the Iota Gamma Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated^®, Charities was modeled after the sorority’s nonprofit organization, the Alpha Kappa Alpha Educational Advancement Foundation, Inc. (EAF).

Iota Gamma Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated^® operates in a unique collaboration and partnership with Ivy Community Charities (“ICC or Charities”), whereby the many fundraising activities sponsored by the chapter in collaboration with ICC help provide programs of service to the residents of Prince George’s County, Maryland. Donations in support of our initiatives are tax-deductible and allow the organization to seek other public and private funding for our programs.

The Iota Gamma Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated^®is in partnership with Operation Hope, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit public benefit corporation, leading provider of financial literacy and economic tools and services. IGO and Operation Hope have established a strategic alliance in a movement that is focused on financial inclusion and dignity aimed at empowering the underserved of America. The aim is to create a new class of American citizens, lodged between the working class and the middle class. Operation Hope provides financial literacy training in webinars sponsored by the chapter and small business coaching, and individual financial coaching as well.

At Operation hope ” We equip young people and adults with the financial tools and education to secure a better future – coaching them through their personal aspirations and life’s challenges, and facilitating their journey to financial independence.”

The Iota Gamma Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated^®/Ivy Community Charities (ICC) is in partnership with The Prince Georges Cash (Creating Assets, Savings, and Hope) Campaign which is a coalition of organizations seeking to increase wealth building opportunities for working families within Prince Georges County. IGO participates in monthly meetings with PG Cash to share wealth building opportunities, serves as a sponsor for the annual Money Explosion Fair, and assists in providing financial literacy training at the Money Explosion. The Prince George’s CASH (Creating Assets, Savings and Hope) Campaign is a coalition of asset building organizations developed to increase wealth building opportunities for working families within Prince George’s County. Prince George’s CASH supports programs products and policies that protect and expand the financial capability of county residents.
