Donated over 6700 toiletry items to Bowie State University’s Pantry
Donated over $25K to HBCUs
Provided over $50K in scholarships to incoming freshmen attending HBCUs
There are many obstacles that threaten the long-term growth and survival of HBCUs which include funding and lack of knowledge about their impact. The goal of the HBCU for Life Committee is to promote, market and encourage students to attend HBCUs because HBCUs have graduated the largest number of people of color who are doctors, pharmacists, college professors, engineers and even elected officials at the State and national levels.
With funding being one of the primary obstacles that threatens the survival of HBCUs, we encourage the community to donate to HBCUs. To support HBCUs in our community, we adopted Bowie State University. We provide toiletry items to their students in need, support their scholarship endowment program, and hold events on their campus that support the students and faculty.
