Target 5: Global Impact

This target program seeks to enhance the international footprint of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Chapters were asked to implement community service projects and engage in global partnerships that provide assistance to the underserved communities in international areas of the world populated by people of color. This program included several global assistance activities and a National Global Impact Day.

Iota Gamma Omega’s Global Impact Committee participated in several program activities that provided assistance to the underserved international areas populated by people of color:

Held a drop-off activity to collect completed dresses and shirts sewn by chapter members for the children in Haiti for Alpha Kappa Alpha’s international Pillowcase Project.
Additionally, the drop-off activity received a donation of 50 pairs of new flip-flops, and shoes, for Alpha Kappa Alpha’s international Soles 4 Souls partnership.
Eyeglasses were dropped off as well, and a chapter member’s optometrist from Visual Eyes in Prince George’s County, MD, graciously donated a box of eyeglasses to the Global Impact Committee.
